OGRA-GAS

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has suspended gas supply to Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and nearby areas, including Defence View, Azam Basti, and Akhtar Colony, following damage to a 24-inch pipeline during excavation work near Jam Siddiq Bridge. Emergency repair crews are working to restore the line, with service expected to resume by 6:00 AM tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has proposed a Rs 64 per MMBTU price increase to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), citing a Rs 20.58 billion deficit, including costs from the LPG AirMix project and LNG supply adjustments. If approved, the new rates will impact domestic consumers starting July 1, 2024.
